Sifu Ken Low is a thirdgeneration Chinese Canadian. He is the current candidate for the Liberal Partyof Canada in the upcoming federal election. He is also a professional civilengineer working for the City Hall of Vancouver. From his mild manner, politeappearance, and friendly laughter, one could hardly see that he is anaccomplished Martial Artist.

   In his early days, Sifu Ken Low was influenced by his father to take uptraining in Kung Fu. Sifu Ken’s father, who was also a Kung Fu expert, laid thebasic ground works in Hung Gar Kung Fu for Sifu Ken. Subsequently Sifu Ken tookopportunities to learn from many Kung Fu and Wushu Masters. In the early to mid80’s, Sifu Ken won more than 100 trophies, many of them grandchampionshiptrophies, from major tournaments.

   Sifu Ken was the founding chairman of the Wushu Association of B.C. He isalso the Advisor of the international Wushu Sanshou Dao Association, Advisor ofthe U.S. Traditional Kung Fu Federation, and the Instructor of the VancouverCity Police Traditional Chinese Lion Dancing Team. He teaches at his own schoolin Vancouver, and has produced many internationally acclaimed students over theyears. He was the Team Leader of the National Canadian Wushu Team in 1985, 1999and 2003.

   He is also the promoter of one of the largest and most prestigioustournaments in the Pacific Northwest – “The West Coast Can-Am Championships”.This year marked the 29th annual.
