Wu Chengde, male, was born in Shanghai in 1930.He isMaster of the field of martial arts, disciple of traumatology specialist WangZhiping, the former professor of Chinese medicine in Shanghai College of TCM, Ph.D.instructor, director of the Department of Traumatology, chief physician of thesubsidiary Longhua Hospital, member of Traumatology Department of All-ChinaAssociation of TCM, director of Shanghai Association of TCM, vice- chairman ofOrthopedics Science Institute, vice-chairman of the Council of Human SoftTissue Injury of Shanghai Chinese Medical Association, members of Shanghai Branch of Sports Medicine, andRehabilitation Medicine Branch.
He practiced Wushuand learned medicine at the same time at an early age, and served as formermember of Chinese Wushu Association, vice president of Wushu MedicineInstitute. In 1960s he was concurrently chief coaches of Wushu teams inShanghai Universities,and Shanghai College of TCM, advisor of Shanghai Yangzi River Kung Fu and MedicalResearch Institute, head judge of Shanghai and Eastern Region martial arts, taichi and other post-matches.
He retired in1989, went to the United States, and served as former consultant of USANational Wushu Federation , chief general counselor of the World Federation ofTCM Traumatology, the HoustonChinese Martial Arts in the Faculty of Medicine and consultant of HustonChinese Wushu and College of TCM, honorary consultant of IWSD Association. Nowhe is TCM consultant of Houston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute of Health(acupuncture, traumatology, Qigong), and hasbeen arbitration of USA Wushu and Taijifor many years.In 2007 he was named one of "The World's Top Ten MartialArts Doctors". In 2008 he was namedone of "100 Extraordinary Martial Artists".At the same year he was given the honorarytitle "Black Belt Nine” by IWSD Association.
He has published alot of book on Wushu and medicine. He is the editor-in-chief of TCM Traumatology first, second edition, deputy editor ofthe fifth edition. His other works include TCM Traumatology Scientific Basis, Internal Study of TCM,Martial Arts Traumatology ,Illnesses andTreatment 20 Methods", Exercise and Health ,Wang Ziping and Wushu(writing in collaboration with Wang Jurong andher daughter, Wu Xiaogao)Master of theMartial Arts Teaches you how to Learn Quan and Special Collection of ChineseBoxing of Wang Ziping and so on.
