Lianjie Li, English name Jet Li. He was born inBeijing in1963.At age 8 he entered the Amateur Wushu Class at Beijing Shichahai SportsSchool and later became a member of Beijing Wushu Team when he was 12 yearsold. In 1975 he won the second prize of in the 3rd National WushuCompetition. From 1975 to 1979, he constantly kept his championship in NationalWushu Competition, and for that he was honored Special Merit Citation byBeijing Sports Committee.

In 1982 he acted in the movie Shaolin Temple and sincethen he has become an outstanding Wushu-movie star. In 1991 he acted in theseries of movies Feihong Huang directed by Ke Xu. Since 1980 he has acted inmany movies and equally injected them with his hardworking and creation, thushe has laid his position as a super star of his time.

In 1998 he entered Hollywood by acting Fatal Weapon 4,and ranked himself as the Chinese star of martial arts of the world afterXiaolong Li and Cheng Long.

In 2008 the film Kung Fu King mainly acted by Jackin Chanand Jet Li has been released. Many people call the movie “Double-J Plan”becausethe two superstars’ English names. At the same year he was  honored as one of“Top Ten Wushu Superstars ofthe World”and “Top 100 Wushu Extraordinaire.”
